Sibyl's cave Picture

The ageless Cumaean Sibyl was the priestess presiding over the Apollonian oracle at Cumae, a Greek colony located near Naples, Italy. The wise Sybyl was granted any wish from the Sun God Apollo in exchange for her virginity, so she took a hand full of sand and boldly said, "grant me life for as long as all the pebbles of sand i hold in my hand." the wish was granted then refusing to give to the god Apollo told poor Sibyl that she forgot one important thing, youth. So she lived a long and old life, withering away.

My Greek and Roman Mythology class had a field day, so we went to Cuma and went to see Sybyl's cave also known as "Antro della Sibilla" along with the temple of Apollo and Zeus. here is the pick from the mouth of the cave looking in.
