Tsukuyomi is the second of three noble deities, born directly from the creator god Izanagi, and one of the most important Japanese mythology, is the younger brother of Amaterasu, the Sun Goddess and the older brother of Susanoo, the god of sea and storms .

According to the myth, Tsukuyomi was born from Izanagi's right eye when it is bathed in the lake Onogoro-shima to cleanse their sins to escape the underworld and the wrath of his wife Izanami, from very young Tsukuyomi proved to be incredibly wise, even very lonely and retracted, so we were still child was given the title of God lunar night and discover his kingdom in that celestial body, which Takamagahara alcanso with the heavenly ladder (the same as used for rabbits up to prepare the mochi), besides that is the father of all the stars in the sky.

He is the protagonist of multiple narratives Japanese as "Uke-Mochi Killing" in Tsukuyomi accidentally assassin the goddess of food and raw favoria Amaterasu, Uke-Mochi, so the sun goddess resents his brother and choose to never again see or speak to him (explanation why the moon and the sun are never in the sky) and acts as a villain in the Japanese vercion myth of "the night of Tanabata" because it is the one who separates Orihime (a star) and Hikoboshi (a samurai) enome creating a river of stars that divides the night sky (the Milky Way) as it seems wrong that one of his daughters fall in love with a mortal.
