Susanoo (Susano-o or Susano) - Japanese Mythology – Susanoo was the Shinto god of the sea and storms. He was also considered to be ruler of Yomi. In Japanese mythology, Susanoo, the powerful storm of Summer, was the brother of Amaterasu, the goddess of the sun, and of Tsukuyomi, the god of the moon. All three were born from Izanagi, when he washed his face clean of the pollutants of Yomi, the underworld. Amaterasu was born when Izanagi washed out his left eye, Tsukuyomi was born from the washing of the right eye, and Susanoo from the washing of the nose.

Yamata-no-Orochi (Orochi) – Japanese Mythology – Orochi was a legendary 8-headed and 8-tailed Japanese dragon that was slain by the Shinto storm-god Susano.
