Pleiades open cluster Picture

This is an open star cluster, called The Pleiades. Its scientific name is Messier 45. It lies in the constellation of Taurus. The Pleiades can be seen with unaided eye as a fuzzy ball in the sky. Take a bino and count the stars. With naked eye you can count up to seven stars,so they are called the seven sisters, based in the greek mythology.
An EOS 20D fixed on a 8 inch telescope was used for this picture. The total exposure time was 90 minutes.
