"The maiden of water".

One of the three self-portraits (despite the hair colour in this one). I wanted to bring some inspiration from myths and fairytales into these paintings - this one is inspired by water maidens and -spirits, which are included in Finnish mythology as well. I perceive these creatures as young maidens who have precisely blond and curly hair.
Another theme is water, as it is an element that has reassuring effect to me; whether it's watching the waves, a view of a calm and misty lake, listening to the ripplet of the waves or purling of a brook....
