Mythological info
Duwende or Duende is a mythological creature in Philippine folklore on which is the Philippine counterpart of a dwarf in western myth practically norse.

The Duwende folk can be identify as little beings who lives on trees and sometimes on lump of soils called Punso. It is said that the Duwende build their Kingdom on this particular places and their society is build on absolute monarchy.

It is said that the Duwende likes sweets like chocolates and candies and it can be used to bribe them in exchange for good luck. According to some witnesses accounts, is that if you have a Duwende living on your backyard and you befriend them, by offering them sweets they will protect your house on misfortunes and bless you you luck.

But not all Duwende's are friendly, for their are those who will curse you and harm you the moment you disturb them. It is said that the color of their clothing represent their personality. Light colors like blue, green, yellow are the Duwende's that is considered as friendly but aggressive colors such as black, red etc are considered bad and tend to be avoided.

another fact about this creatures is that they are very close to children, and they tend to appear before them to play or ask for a friendship

The Philippines is a highly catholic country but the beliefs of the ancient past is still strong in the hearts of the Filipinos thus beings like the Duwende and other Mythological creatures still survives
