the flood and hope Picture

The myth of "flood", deluge, is an important narrative found in mythologies of almost every great civilization of the earth; from Greek to Malaysian, from Chinese to Sumerian... of course the most well known version is Judeo-Christian which is also very similar to Islamic one.

The word is "hope" because every deluge myth, no matter how devastating the flood is, no matter how vengeful it is in origin, it always ends with a piece of hope; a hope for a new beginning, a hope for a new era, a hope for a better future...

Inspired by Abrahamic myth, the English word hope is morphed to resemble a ship, an ark... This is a contemporary Western calligraphy work.

So in life which is the inspiration of all the myths there is, do not despair in the face of a flood of devastation, for the hope is begotten by the magnificent waves of devastation...
