Eiocha returns to the sea... Picture

This is a painting of an old Druidic creation myth, where Eiocha the white mare returns to the Ocean. In the begining was the ocean and the oak tree. A white mare called Eiocha emerged from the sea foam and ate the berries of a mistletoe plant growing on the oak tree. Eating these berries caused her to fall pregnant and in time she gave birth to the first god, the forest god cerrannos, who asked the oak tree to multiply and the woodlands were born. Cerrannos went on to create the beings who now live in these woodlands. Eiocha returned to the primordial ocean and this painting sees her leaping back into the waves...
