The cover for Eye of the Gods seems to be "eye-catching" at comic conventions. Even when people don't stop at my booth, I frequently watch their facial expressions as they pass. They range from strange curiosity to abject revulsion. Either way, I feel like I'm doing something right.

One of my recent art prints, Wound, seems to have a similar effect. I've been wondering lately, if I've stuck a nerve, simply through my natural interest in things of beauty that are tainted with a hint of perversity/disturbing elements, or vice-versa.

That lead me to the thumbnail sketch below. I wanted to try and combine these elements. The Medusa is a mythological creature that has been depicted time and again, so I'm not re-inventing the wheel here. But the idea of replacing the snakes with eyeballs on serpentine stalks, has exactly the creepy feel that gets me excited about making art.
