Brian Chan presents a modern reinterpretation of Katsushika Hokusai's "Under a Great Wave off Kanagawa" woodblock print.

I see anime and science fiction as a modern mythology, where, instead of mythical gods, giant robots and monsters act in even stranger and more epic tales than we could have ever imagined. Yet culture is rarely replaced or erased, instead it evolves, so these modern mythical characters find themselves comfortably at home in a cultural landscape that has been around for centuries.

I am selling signed digital prints (17" x 7") of this painting on Etsy. If you are interested in acquiring the original painting (25"x10"), please send me a personal message.
