Page two from my short story The Life and Death of Talos the Bronze, originally made for the independently produced 2008 anthology "Iconic" ([link]).

"Iconic" dealt with characters from classical literature and mythology in new retellings, but all with a slight twist to them. And my entry, co-scripted with fellow comic writer Phillip Clark, was based on "Jason and the Argonauts", but humorously told from the point of view of Talos; a guardian made of bronze, whom menaces the Argonauts at one point.

The comic also took a lot of inspiration from the 1963 fantasy film ( [link](1963_film) ) based on the classic tale, namely the portrayal of Talos himself, as a more fearsome being a greater, gigantic size.

"Iconic" has since become limited in its numbers and availability, so I'm currently re-coloring "The Life and Death of Talos the Bronze" for a convention exclusive I'm doing with friend and partner Hawanja ([link])

In this page, we view the daily routine of our title giant, as he walks the island of Crete, monitoring its citizens and enforcing the law. I don't know what the citizens of Crete truly think about Talos, but like any overly committed sentry or officer, they do find him both opposing and a tad annoying.

And because I've had such a long time to think about it, there is a back-story to the young couple that Talos harasses in panels four and five...though I'll share it in the comments only, to avoid adding to this already lengthy description.
