Idunna Picture

In Norse mythology, the gods aren't immortal. They could grow old and die. To become immortal, the gods had to eat the golden apples, served daily by Idunna.

Idunna was the guardian of the golden apples, the goddess of vegetation and eternal renewal. She was described as young, kind and innocent, easily duped by the giants, who wanted to steal your apples.
