Echidna, mother of horrors Picture

In classical Greek mythology, Echidna was a half-nymph-half-snake monster, mother of Cerberus, Typhon, the Chimera, the Hydra, and Scylla, among many other terrible and famous monsters.
The small clump of spines in the midforeground of this image is a wild echidna.
