Ursa Major, The Big Dipper Picture

Ursa Major, commonly known as the Big Dipper. Ursa Major means "Big Bear" in Latin. According to the Greek mythology, the bear was once a beautiful woman named Callisto. Zeus, the supposed king of all gods, lusted after Callisto's beauty. Hera, Zeus' wife, became jealous and transformed Callisto into a bear.

Somewhere in the story Callisto meets her son while she's a bear. The son thinks that the bear is out to kill him, so he prepares to shoot the animal. To avoid a tragedy, Zeus transforms Callisto and her son into Ursa Major, the constellation known to us as The Big Dipper. In the words of random Deviantart trolls, "Cool story, Bro!"

I'm still trying to get the hang of the PS painting. I love to color, but painting was never my interest.
